Sounds like this victim froze in panic. A car is ALWAYS replaceable, your life is not. Last week, I got news that a Publix grocery truck got caught in the way of the Silver Star outside Lakeland, but at least the driver saved his own life by getting out. That truck driver made the foolish mistake of stopping on the crossing just because the traffic signal had turned red when he started to cross the tracks, and it left his trailer over the tracks, If it was me, I would have kept rolling and to hell with the traffic signal to get off the track.
