House Republican Deficit Study Group Proposes Eliminating Amtrak

21 Jan 2011 9:50 AM | Jackson McQuigg (Administrator)

An outright elimination of Amtrak has been proposed by a deficit study group led by Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to an article which can be found at the Huffington Post.

It's not too early to remind your Member of Congress (whether Republican or Democrat) about the importance of Amtrak to our state.

As we all know, all forms of transportation require government participation. Singling out Amtrak subsidies as an example of an area which can be cut is grossly ignorant and unfair.
